Our members have access to our core documents, program information, and financial information. We build trust with our membership base through ethical, integrity-led transparency, authenticity, and leadership accessibility. Our members also receive detailed monthly updates in video format from our Executive Director.
All leadership council members receive thorough training in transformational leadership and how to lead our organization. Members will have access to leadership training in our On-Demand Courses. (These courses are still in development. We expect them to be complet We provide workplace leadership training for the benefit of our Employee & Employer members on topics such as People management, Front Desk, Sales, and Lead Therapist training. We also publish links to recommended leadership courses and books outside of our organization for our members.
Members receive a monthly video update from the Executive Director discussing the business of USOLMT. Monthly update includes any updates to the structure, the goals and milestones of the organization, decisions made by the Council, the financial health of the organization, operations and policy, marketing initiatives, government relations, advocacy actions taken, engagement opportunities, upcoming events, educational developments, membership status, campaigns, current projects, fundraising, and planning. We want to keep you informed and remain transparent in our efforts.
USOLMT publishes a quarterly digital magazine. The magazine is available in March, June, September, and December. Members can submit articles to the magazine, be featured in the magazine, or apply to write a regular column. Members will receive the magazine exclusively, 1 month prior to its release to the public on our website. The magazine will cover many aspects of massage therapy including career tips and advice, business tips, an employer corner, soft skills, professional development, upcoming events, member spotlights, and more. Advertising opportunities are available.
CE providers can share their recorded courses on the USOLMT CE Academy. At this time, we are looking for Continuing Education providers who might wish to donate a course for our members to get our CE platform started. Your courses must be recorded and available online. If you are unable to provide a donated course, please consider providing a discounted course for our members! We've got benefits for your generosity!
USOLMT is a one-stop-shop for information related to our industry for members. Members have access to a Helpful Sites page which includes links to all massage associations, massage information, business coaches, CE providers, and more. This page will be updated as additional information becomes available. We also provide the most comprehensive list of state-by-state information available in the industry.
USOLMT does surveys and polls throughout the year and analyzes the research done by other agencies that may be relevant to our members. We also research the massage community to identify common issues. Going forward, the results of this research will be shared on an annual basis with our members, 30 days prior to its release to the public. Additionally, USOLMT conducts market, labor and industry research at the request of our members or the public for an additional fee.
USOLMT sets a standard for employer members, based on our employee research data and best practices. Employers who are licensed massage therapists, who meet these standards, may join our organization. Through joining, our employers will have the opportunity to advertise and be featured in our magazine, the opportunity to become event sponsors, and to be promoted as employers of choice to our members and the public. We believe ethical employers who have a background in massage therapy are the most beneficial workplaces a new massage therapist can choose to be employed.
USOLMT strives to stay ahead of the curve. We see trends developing where others may not. We keep tabs on the collective feel of what's happening in our industry. We speak openly about the issues, and we seek understanding. We continually work towards the evolution of our collective by staying open to all possible solutions, learning, listening, and encouraging others to commit to take action to solve problems. We don't run when things get complicated, nor do we remain silent. We organize and find a way forward together. Our members have a private online space to gather, form groups, network, and work together.
Our members can earn free months of membership by referring others to join our organization. We are working to build our discount program for our members and have several discounts already available. This program will be expanded over time.
Members who get involved in our organization receive more benefits! We offer free advertising in our literature and on our podcast for our most involved members. Employer members and CE providers who get involved can post positions and upcoming courses in our group. We love to feature our members on our podcasts, interview you, and promote your great work!
